Luminate Streaming Ratings: A Good Girls Guide to Murder Leads Though TV Viewership R

July 2024 · 4 minute read

“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” debuted on Luminate’s weekly viewership rankings with 699.1 million minutes watched in its first full week of availability on Netflix, making it the most-watched streaming original across both the film and TV charts for Aug. 2-8 by far.

This comes after a particularly slow week of streaming; between July 26 and Aug. 1 was Season 6 of “Love Island USA” with just 386.5 million minutes watched. And beyond a solid debut for “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” the summer slowdown continued this week, as “Love Island USA” stayed near the top of the chart, clinching the No. 2 position with 365.9 million minutes watched in the second full week of availability of the season finale.

Next were "Too Hot to Handle" Season 6 in fifth place with 210.7 million minutes watched and "Presumed Innocent" in sixth with 210 million. The rest of the chart went to titles with less than 200 million minutes watched: "Love of My Life," "Batman: Caped Crusader," "Criminal Minds" and "Cobra Kai."

Both "Rebel Moon" films made their way back onto the chart after Netflix released directors cuts, which took third and fourth place.

Finishing out the slow streaming week, all with less than 125 million minutes watched, were "Descendants: The Ride of Red," "Knox Goes Away," "My Spy: The Eternal City," "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F," "Hillbilly Elegy" and "A Family Affair."
