As of Tuesday night, American Idol Season 20 Platinum Ticket winner HunterGirl was second only to last season’s winner Chayce Beckham on the iTunes Country Albums chart. The singer celebrated the milestone on Instagram.

In March, HunterGirl released a five-song EP called One Day. The talented country singer has been competing on this season of American Idol after receiving one of three coveted Platinum Tickets after her audition.
On Sunday night’s new Top 20 episode of the show, HunterGirl sang an original song called “Heartbreak Down,” which is the opening track on her EP. She recently shared how the EP and song were doing on iTunes, and it looks like she’s following in Chayce Beckham’s footsteps — literally!
HunterGirl posted a screenshot showing One Day in the No. 2 spot on the iTunes Country Albums chart, behind Chayce’s new EP Doin’ It Right. “Heartbreak Down” was also charting in the Country Songs category, at No. 14.
“I AM AT #2 IN THE COUNTRY ALBUM CHART ON ITUNES I AM FREAKING OUT!!” the singer wrote to caption her post. “HEARTBREAK DOWN IS #14! I LOVE YALL! THIS IS INSANE!”

Will She Be This Season’s Chayce Beckham?
HunterGirl is definitely a frontrunner this season. Not only did she earn the Platinum Ticket, but America voted her into the Top 20 and then the Top 10, without being in danger of elimination this week. Could she be this season’s winner?
Much like Chayce in Season 19, HunterGirl has wowed with her original music. The fact that so many people are seeking out her single and EP to listen off the show is definitely a good sign for her chances in the competition.
HunterGirl is now in the Top 14. She’ll perform again next Sunday night for a chance to be in the Top 11 and perform in Monday night’s Judge’s Song Contest.
