Dr. Pimple Popper seems to reserve her more extreme transformations for the show, and the first episode was a doozy. She treated three different patients with three totally different skin issues. One, named Jen, has substantial growths on her ears that cause her depression, pain, and vertigo. The growths are keloids, or a type of raised scar per the American Academy of Dermatology .
In the Dr. Pimple Popper episode , she said they're incredibly painful and she's had them for 11 years. They're constantly itchy, and she fears they're continuing to grow. "I feel like I'm a deformity," she said in the preview. "I'm unnatural." It's heartbreaking, but even these huge keloids are no match for Dr. Pimple Popper.
Dr. Pimple Popper posted the incredible before-and-after photos of Jen's keloid removal to her Instagram feed. The doctor also gave a little insight into the procedure.

She captioned the photos: "On this season premiere of Dr Pimple Popper on @tlc meet Jennifer, who had HUGE keloids on both ears. A big THANK YOU to @sensushealthcare for SRT100, a device that administers focal and superficial radiation to greatly decrease the chance of keloid recurrence. Jennifer looks fantastic, thank you for your help!! #drpimplepopper"
In the photos, Dr. Pimple Popper included close-up videos of the keloids prior to removal. They dangle from the tops of her patient's ears and wobble around. But the after photos are jaw-dropping. Dr. Pimple Popper completely removed all the keloids, leaving Jen's ears totally free. The doctor also administers superficial radiation to ensure the keloids don't pop up again. Phew!
